The tiny bud or small sprout is a joy to behold! It reminds me of new beginnings.
I looked at my newly bought plant and told myself, “I’ll let you live!” That was a first! Haha.
I have killed too many indoor plants already. It’s easier to justify my misfortune as not having the “green thumb” or that plants die, anyway. And I’ve wasted money, as usual. But in reality, I think I just don’t care enough.
So the plant lived… and died after nine months. It loved winter, but I guess the plant hated the summer’s heat. Or maybe, it was my fault; I didn’t know it needs more water. How would I know? It should have said something! Haha
But, I tried again.
This time, I bought five different kinds. This time, I was more determined to keep them all alive!
I guess my relationship with the plants has started.
One night, I saw this very lonely plant with leaves drooping. I immediately poured water into it, instead of the usual spray and hoped I did the right thing. The next day, it was all smiling.
So far, I was able to “resuscitate” two more plants. The mini rose died on me because of overwatering. I’ve learned that after I did an “autopsy.”
I guess just like in life, we will build many relationships. Many will stay, but many will move on as well. Sometimes, no matter how we put our efforts to keep them alive, they will still die on us.
At times even if we hold on, we can only let them go. And in return, learn from the lessons, cherish the moments together, and hope someday our paths will cross again.
And just as tiny buds sprout, life goes on.
