Start with a Purpose

I love that I get to pray first thing in the morning; a simple “thank you” makes God smile for sure! A shout out to the world is inviting good vibes for the day. No matter how bright or gloomy the sun is, I shout, “Thank you, God! What a beautiful day!”.

I also like that I started journaling my dreams, at least, or whatever I remember of it.

It has become a routine.

But it still wouldn’t get me to live a life of purpose, of the high ideal sense.

I still need to make amends with God to seek His forgiveness for all my actions and omissions of the day.

And the next day, I will try again.

And although I continue to err and err again and again, I am thankful that we have a God who lovingly forgives us, even if it’s a daily thing!

I like how my days start, but I know I could be better at being more aware of what happens when I open our bedroom door to face the realities that I have to overcome, embrace and deal with head-on.

That’s when life bites the most.

And I realize, just now, to include a prayer for God’s white light of protection to armor myself for life’s daily battle and be more mindful of the nuisance, challenges, and sweet whispers of the enemy. And continue to seek His grace throughout the day.

Ah, life’s daily simple equation: start with a smile. Yes, sustain it. And end “happy”!

I feel like I just tapped into “great steps” to live a purpose-driven life with God.

Easier said than done, but I love the idea, and I am grateful.

I hope you, too, will start your day with intention and purpose. And all else will fall into place, through the grace of God.
