Magical Moments

Tintin and Julius.

I met Julius and Tintin Babao in a musical event in one of the establishments in Manila. That memory still makes me laugh. I found myself suddenly facing the couple and out-of-the-blue in an “as-if-we-are-close” fashion. I exclaimed, “Tintin, I didn’t know you are tall.” She stands almost as tall as Julius.

Tintin looked at Julius and told him, “I didn’t know I look small on T.V.”

I smiled as my friends pulled me away.

My friends asked what happened, and we started laughing when I told them the story. Every day upon waking up, I would watch their morning news show on T.V. Maybe, subconsciously, they had become my “friends.” When I did meet them in person, it felt natural to comment, which was weird!

Was it a magical moment? At a teeny-weeny bit, I feel it is.

I love connections and the mystery behind it.

Dennis.

Before meeting Dennis, my husband, there was only one person on my mind, my soulmate, that I would meet at a particular time. I knew my heart would recognize him.

So when I finally met Dennis, the mystical connection was mind-boggling! Because he was in my heart, years and years, before I even met him, which was strange!

Cora.

I wasn’t her close friend, but I love that she would always be interested in buying whatever I post on Facebook. When she opened up her arms and shared stories with me when I was in her area, I knew some connection had started.

True enough, in Sept of 2017, we met again, and with just one word, Teach-USA, I got excited. The idea of supporting teachers’ dream to come to the U.S.” through the agency she had in mind, was fascinating.

A simple act of saying yes led us to more connections!

In two years, we had helped more than 100 teachers to come to the U.S. It was magically amazing to be a bridge for these teachers’ dreams to happen.

I was at awe at how the network has spread because a sea of possibilities has opened up.

Indeed, magical moments connect us to the heights and depths of ourselves—a mystical connection.

Today, I woke up with a call to meet my family online. My father called for a meeting. And as emotions surged and relaxed, I thank God for allowing Mommy and Daddy to meet at that love time in their lives. My mom has passed on running two years now, and Daddy has moved on with his life. But, I remain grateful for the magical connection that brought me life through them.

As my journey continues, I know more magical moments will happen as long as I connect a dot and understand the purpose. Some connections may be short, some long, some recently started, some would be ignored, and some have stopped.

But when I look at how far I’ve traveled and the path I am still on, I give God glory.

I hope you, too, would find connections and magical moments and feel… Him.
