Getting Clear On What I Really Want

The 100-Day Experiment: Can Thinking Rich Really Create Wealth?

Day 17: Getting Clear On What I Really Want

Getting clear on what I really (really) want has been a challenge for me. I’ve been asked this question so many times. And yet, every time, I hesitate.

Do I not know? Or do I actually know, but I hold back from fully claiming it?

Maybe deep down, I already know exactly what I want. I can feel it in my heart, see glimpses of it in my dreams. But because it feels so far-fetched, so impossible from where I stand now, I don’t give myself full permission to want it.

So instead, I go about my day-to-day life. I do what needs to be done. I focus on what’s right in front of me. Because if I let myself fully step into the vision of what I really want, would I start resenting my present? Would I feel the weight of the gap between where I am and where I long to be?

But today, a different thought hit me: What if I can do both? What if I don’t have to choose between contentment today and ambition for tomorrow?

Wanting Without Fear

I realize that part of me has been afraid to want too much. Afraid that if I set my sights too high, I’ll only be disappointed. So I keep my desires vague, unspoken—because then, I don’t have to face the possibility of them not happening.

But here’s the truth:

🔸 Desire itself is a signpost. The things I deeply want aren’t random; they were placed in my heart for a reason.
🔸 Clarity creates momentum. If I can’t clearly define what I want, how will I know when it’s arriving? How will I take steps toward it?
🔸 I don’t need to have all the answers now. I just need to start acknowledging what I truly desire—and trusting that the path will reveal itself as I move.

I refuse to resent my present just because I want something bigger. Instead, I choose to believe that my current reality is part of the journey. The gap between where I am and where I want to be isn’t something to fear—it’s the space where faith and action come together.

I can be happy now, while knowing my dreams are on their way to me.

Because if I keep my heart open and my vision clear, what I really, really want will find its way to me.

📌 Affirmation for Today:
I allow myself to fully embrace my deepest desires. I trust that what I truly want is possible and on its way to me.

📌 Reflection:
Have I been holding back from fully claiming what I want? Why? How can I balance gratitude for today with belief in my future dreams?

📌 What I’m Taking Into Tomorrow:
Tomorrow, I’ll explore what taking action looks like without fear. Now that I know what I want, how do I start stepping into it?
